Duane,
I know you can’t sleep at night. I know that what’s happening is eating you up. Your gut is telling you that your business is going to fail and you’re right. Things are dire, that’s for sure. That big project you thought would save the company actually helped put it out of business. I know you wake at 3am with a big huge pit in your stomach. It hurts. Bad. You pray but it doesn’t go away. You get up and go to work. Now you’re going to work on weekends, too, because somehow you think that will fix it. You won’t.
You’re going to go down. Hard. You’ll have to file for bankruptcy. People will talk bad about you. Conspiracy theorists that you thought were close to you will spread rumors that you’re leaving town with a lot of money when you’re really leaving town with $8,000 to your name. The bank will take everything else including the equity from selling your home.
But good things, great things really, will come out of it. You and Lynn will be closer. You’ll feel a weight lifted off your shoulders. You’ll sleep at night. You’ll actually come out the other side stronger.
Oh, and you’ll help people. A lot of people. You’ll become a sales coach and do some pretty cool things for kids and adults with disabilities.
Winston Churchill said “If you’re going through hell, keep going.” Keep going. Everything will be alright.
