It’s alright to feel this way.
I am writing to you today to share that feeling is the secret.
I now know what I didn’t know then and that is that young boys are sensitive. They feel.. their sadness, frustration, anger, joy, freedom, excitement, love.
It’s alright to feel… we can’t argue with a feeling.
Although you learned to hide your feelings. Behave, sit still, don’t be angry, don’t be sad, settle down, don’t be so excited.
I learned to swallow my emotions.. it’s was safer that way.
I shut down one of the most essential secrets to life.. FEELING.
I acknowledge you for your bravery and courage during the escape from rural Kentucky.
The night was damp, the ground smelled moldy, the tall grasses scratched your skin. The musty air and the moonlit night added to the terror and uncertainty of the escape.
You where afraid, scared, uncertain, unsafe, confused.
These are natural emotions when safety is threatened. ..fight, flight or freeze.
I learned to lock down these emotions and the energy.
I put a pad lock on the door and threw away the key.
Then I learned to live life this way.. not feeling.. not experiencing the true emotion.. being safe.. living in a grey zone.
Exercising, achieving, grinding, producing results. Missing the experiences that emotions and feelings offer.
Cool, calm and collected.
We were doing the best we could with what we had.
I am writing to you to share that your courage and bravery is extraordinary.
Because of you WE are free, liberated, open, unfiltered.
Our greatest gift is our sensitivity.
Our empathy.
Our ability to feel.
To emote.
To experience being human and to experience humanity.
And know that through the sensitivity of humanity we experiencing The Divine.
Thank you for being you and for helping us experience life together.
It’s okay to feel this way and feeling is the secret.
Love ME and Love from ME.
